Hello, my name is Bill Pikounis.
As of September 1, 2026, I am retired. I had 39 years of experience as an open-consulting statistician, including 35 years at major pharmaceutical companies.
The following content applied to the most recent period prior to retirement, now in the past:
I am a practicing nonclinical statistician at a pharmaceutical company. Nonclinical statisticians provide statistical services and products to virtually any medicine research area outside of clinical trials. This includes discovery, basic research, safety, development, and product formulations and manufacturing of biologic (large) molecule, small molecule (pill, tablet), and vaccine products. My current position focuses on nonclinical statistics methods and applications for manufacturing.
My professional technical interests include Data graphs, Bayesian applications, and Statistical Software solutions using the RStudio platform. I am a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, selected as a member of the 2014 class.
I am the lead author and maintainer of the cg package, a contribution to R, a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics.
